Dr. Douglas Reeves is the chairman and founder for the Center
for Performance Assessment, an international organization dedicated to improving student achievement and educational equity. Through its long term relationships with school systems, the Center helps educators and school leaders to improve student achievement through practical and constructive approaches to standards, assesssment and accountability.
The author of nineteen books and many articles, Dr. Doug Reeves is the author of
the best-selling Making Standards Work, now in its third addition.

Dr. Doug Reeves has twice been selected for the Harvard Distinguished Author's Series and he recently won the Parent's Choice Award for his writing for children and parents. His writings have been translated into Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew, and Spanish.
Beyond his work in large-scale assessment and research, Douglas Reeves has devoted many years to classroom teaching with students ranging from elementary school to doctoral candidates. Doug's family includes four children ranging from elementary school to doctoral candidates, all of whom have attended public schools. His wife, Shelley Sackett, is an attorney, mediator, and school board member.
